5 Dumb Things You Forgot That Will Lower Your Golf Score Next Round

Golf's a funny game, a simple tip or two can easily lower your score the next time you play and you find yourself slapping yourself in the head and thinking, "Why didn't I think of that?" Here are 5 simple things that you can do to give you a new outlook on the game for next round and have you shooting a lower score.

1) Get a New Glove- Seriously, how many more months are you going to stretch out that piece of crusty ripped up crap you call a glove and put it on for a round? It gives you LESS grip! Spend the few dollars on the way to the course and get a fresh glove. You'll grip the club lighter and hit better shots with more feel.

2) Clean the Grooves Out On Your Clubs- If there is dirt and grass in your grooves when you hit a shot, you are hitting the ball with a club without grooves! Clean them out with a tool or tee and you'll have more spin and more control on the shots and chips.

3) Aim- Next time you are on the range, line up a club on your feet line towards the target (just barely to the left of it). It's amazing how offline we can get and therefore add a bunch of problems in our swing when we neglect this.

4) Don't Use Your Driver- What? No way! Yes way. That's not to say don't use your driver at all in the round, just use it when the hole calls for it. If you are going to hit it through the fairway into long grass or a hazard if you do indeed hit a good shot, then why are you hitting the driver? Take the correct club and count on hitting a good shot.

5) Always Know Your Intention- If you would like to hit to the right side of the green, even if you are 210 yards out, then by golly, aim there and have the intention to do that! Some people give up before they have even hit the shot because they don't think about what exactly they want to do. They think, "I couldn't hit that shot if I wanted to, so why try?" Don't give into that negative thought process. Always have an intention for every shot.

Use those 5 simple tips to give you a fresh outlook on the game and help you lower your scores next round.
