![]() Drop 7 Strokes In 2 Weeks? My Review Of “The Simple Swing” System![]() A Review By Greg Harelik Hi, I'm Greg, and here's my experience with "The Simple Swing" by David Nevogt. Well, my starting handicap was around a 22, so if something claims it can drop 7 strokes off my game in 2 weeks, I figure what the hell... I hit a weak slice, and absolutely stink at the short game, so what's to lose? The beginning was interesting just reading through the book. I skimmed it then read it through pretty thoroughly, trying the tips I could without shattering anything in my living room. I watched the Simple Swing videos and everything the course had to offer and felt that it did a pretty darn good job of explaining how it was going to trim 7 strokes off a hackers game like mine. 15 minutes a day, 3 times a week David Nevogt said...we'll see. What I found initially...According to 'The Simple Swing', my grip and alignment of shoulders with my feet were waaaaaay off. I fight a slice like most of the golfers on the planet, and was excited to try the combo of new grip with new alignment. Day 1 on the range- I found it hard to even make contact without topping or shanking! Luckily the course provides well explained "fix points" that I quickly referenced and ended up hitting it pretty well a few times. Like, better than I've ever hit it a few times, so I was pretty excited. Following practice sessions- I think the second day went about the same with a few "careered" shots. However after the third and fourth time, the whole concept of swinging on one axis started to click with me. I was not turning my shoulders correctly on the back swing, or even transferring my weight to the left foot on the follow through. These two "aha" realizations got me RIPPING the ball and actually hitting a draw every once in a while...that was one of the cooler moments of my life by the way... yeah I know I need to get out more. So I played a round that Saturday. I shot a 96. That's like 2 shots over my handicap. But it was weird, I actually felt good about the round. I was hitting shots over greens it seemed on every hole. I was liking my new-found power. I missed putt after putt and chipped like an idiot. Ummmm, maybe I should start thinking about the Simple Swing short game lessons a little more and keep up with the practice... That second week I was determined to spend a little more time on the short game. I practiced the fundamentals taught in the course bonuses for chipping, putting and sand play. I guess I never thought about this part of the game correctly...at ALL. I feel like there was a definite shift of thinking for every aspect of the short game for me. I started swinging faster through chips and getting much better control, which was very counter-intuitive for me. I started putting much more on-line with better distance control. It was fun. Ready for the weekend... I played two times that second week of doing the "Simple Swing Course" and shot a 89 and an 84. ANY time I break 90 is considered a respectable day for me...but an 84 was just an awesome feeling! And it wasn't one of those 84's... "you know except for that one hole where I gave myself a 7"...it was a real 84! So I guess in conclusion, I would recommend wholeheartedly to anyone who wants to become a better player to go ahead and just try "The Simple Swing" by David Nevogt. It's an 8 week money back guarantee and basically cheaper than one lesson with a golf pro, so there really is nothing to lose. There's stat-trackers, DVD clips, drills, etc...it has just simply changed my whole approach to the game and made it so much more fun for me. I consistently shoot in the 80's now. I really don't even think about shooting in the 90's. Okay, it still happens, but my confidence is still high! I'm just working on breaking the 80's barrier now and it hasn't been more than 7 weeks since I bought The Simple Swing. I've said it to all the guys I play with and I'll say it to you- GET IT! |
